Chef Nanni’s Cioppino


On February 14, 1991 I came to America for the first time. Twenty years later on the same day I became an American citizen. For these reasons, Valentine’s Day is particularly special for me, and that is why I chose today to write my first, albeit short, blog post to welcome you, my readers.

As you can imagine, today was busy at the restaurant, but it was important to me to  have February 14th as the day I first posted here at But, as it is now 11:45 pm,  I feel a bit like Cinderella racing to get home from the ball before my car turns into a pumpkin.

Anyway,  I would like to welcome you to my food blog. I am not sure yet where this journey will take us, but I know that what I am going to write about will be food and the love of food. I would like for this to be a place where I share glimpses into a Chef’s life-stories about my childhood in Italy, my training in France, my life in America, and my work behind the line.  I will also post cooking videos and recipes.

Happy Valentines Day to all of you. I’m looking forward to share my love for cooking with all of you.
